Recommendations
Overview
By default, the total number of recommendations is displayed on the Dashboard and categorized based on the property (such as High, Medium, and Low).
Using the Recommendations overview dashboard, you can:
View the summary of the total idle resources and resources that are not utilized and under-utilized in your infrastructure.
View the estimated savings that you can achieve by terminating them.
Drill down into a specific resource pool or account from the Resource Pools or Accounts page to view the recommendations.
View the Accrued Cost vs. Potential Savings for different cloud provider accounts and it can be filtered by Daily or Weekly.
Access Recommendations List
Procedure
Login into CloudVerse.
From the left pane (navigation menu), select Recommendations. The Recommendation Overview page displays the total recommendations, and the type of recommendations made. Click the Recommendations tab.
You can access the following asset-specific recommendation information in each row.
Field
Description
Recommendation
Indicates the system-generated suggestions for optimizing the usage of cloud account resources.
Impacted Resource
Indicates the name of the cloud account resource impacted.
Provider
Displays the cloud provider specific to the impacted resource.
Region
Displays the region to which the impacted resource belongs to.
Type
Displays the recommendation type. For example, Advisor Check, Idle VM, Idle IP Address, and Rightsizing.
Priority
Indicates the priority (High, Medium, or Low) of the recommendation.
Acknowledge
Button that allows you to dismiss the recommendation by selecting one of the reasons listed in the confirmation popup.
Access Idle Resources
This tab provides a brief description about the potential savings, recommendations suggested, cost saved for the current month, and the current year based on the number of recommendations implemented.
The recommendations displayed under Idle Resources will help you identify the resources that are idle and haven’t been used for a brief period of time. The idle resource might include persistent disks (PDs), IP addresses, and custom disk images that aren't used. With the recommendation suggested against idle resources, you can utilize the recommendations to minimize the waste of resources and reduce your computing bill. In the case of inactive partition disks, you can create a backup snapshot and proceed to delete the resource. All unwanted or unused PDs, images, and IP addresses can be deleted.
Procedure
Login into CloudVerse.
From the left pane (navigation menu), select Recommendations. The Recommendation Overview page displays the total recommendations, and the type of recommendations made. Click the Idle Resources tab.
You can view four tabs under the Idle Resources tab.
Idle VM
Idle PD
Idle Image
Idle IP Address
Each tab will display a recommendation, and resource impacted along with an option to acknowledge the recommendation. You can dismiss the recommendation by clicking the X button under the Acknowledge field.
The following are common fields that you can view within each tab.

Recommendation
Displays the recommendation that allows you to save the cost by stopping the idle virtual machines, deleting the idle persistent disk, deleting idle image, and deleting the idle IP address.
Impacted Resource
Indicates the asset resource that has been impacted because of the idle virtual machine, persistent disk, image or an IP address.
Provider
Displays the cloud provider specific to the impacted resource.
Region
Displays the region to which the impacted resource belongs to.
Acknowledge
Button that allows you to dismiss the recommendation by selecting one of the reasons listed in the confirmation popup.
Access Rightsizing
This tab provides a brief overview of the potential savings, cost saved for the current month, and the current year based on the number of recommendations implemented specific to the rightsizing (to improve the overall machine performance).
Rightsizing recommendation allows you to analyze your resources and usage to show the opportunities that can help you lower your spending. From the Rightsizing window, you can see all your under-utilized instances across different cloud accounts in a single view to immediately identify how much you can save.

You can access the following asset-specific rightsizing recommendation and the asset information in each row.

Displays the recommendations that allow you to save the cost. For example, modifying the instance, and improving the performance by changing the machine type.
Impacted Resource
Indicates the asset resource that has been impacted.

Acknowledge
Button that allows you to dismiss the recommendation by selecting the one of the reasons listed in the confirmation popup.
Purchase Planning
This Purchase Planning tab provides an overview of the recommendations specific to the number of reserved instances to be purchased and the estimated savings (per month and per year) that you can achieve by purchasing them. You can also drill down into a specific resource or account from the Purchase Planning page to view the detailed recommendation corresponding to the resource.
From this tab, you can determine the number of reserved instances that you must purchase to obtain cost savings on implementing the recommendations and the total estimated cost savings that you can achieve by purchasing new reserved instances.

Access SKU Explorer
It provides a comprehensive analysis of the current SKU/VM/Instance type, offering alternative options and Purchase Planning (Saving) options in terms of regions, processors, and CSPs (Cloud Service Providers). The configuration (VCPUs and memory) remains unchanged to ensure cost savings without compromising productivity. Procedure

From the left pane (navigation menu), select Recommendations. The Recommendation Overview page displays the total recommendations, and the type of recommendations made. Click the SKU Explorer tab.
You can access the SKU Explorer which discover the complete SKU/VM/Instance resources available in the environment and the resource information in each row.
Click on the Alternatives button against the resource which you would like to see the alternative options for. It will by default open the Region Change option with other options are available side by side [Platform Change] [Provider Change]. Kindly explore as per the business requirements.
Click on the Compare button to look for a bar view comparison among different purchase planning options [PayG,RI,SP,Spot]
