Assets

Overview

The Overview Dashboard displays the overall list of assets, cloud providers, and cloud accounts specific to the logged in user. This tab allows you to monitor the real-time data in the form of widgets.

Procedure

  1. Login into CloudVerse.

  2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Services. The Assets page is displayed with Overview and other Assets tabs. Click the Overview tab.

  3. The Overview tab displays the following elements.

Widget

Description

Cloud Providers

Displays the total number of cloud providers that are currently available. Clicking this widget navigates you to the cloud providers Accounts details page.

Cloud Accounts

Displays the total number of cloud accounts. Clicking this widget navigates you to the cloud providers Accounts details page.

Assets

Displays the total number of assets. Clicking this widget navigates you to the Assets List page where you can view the complete information of an asset.

Assets Count by Region

A graph displaying the number of accounts spread across the different regions. You can hover over the pin to see the details.

Asset List

Procedure

  1. Login into CloudVerse.

  2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Services. The Assets page is displayed with Overview and other Assets tabs. Click the Assets List tab.

  3. The Asset List tab displays the complete details of the assets. Click the asset Name link to view the details and recommendations suggested for the asset.

Field

Description

Name

Indicates the unique name specific to the cloud asset. Clicking the name link navigates you to the asset details.

Provider

Indicates the cloud provider of the cloud asset.

Account

Indicates the count of the cloud asset belongs to.

Region

Indicates the region to which the cloud asset belongs to.

AZ

Indicates the availability zone of the cloud asset.

Cost

Indicates the cost associated with the cloud asset.

Status

Indicates the status of the cloud asset provisioned.

  • Failed

  • Deleted

  • Stopped

  • Running

Tags

Indicates the free-form labels or keywords that you create to logically identify data objects.

Created

Indicates the date when the cloud asset was created.

Access Asset Details

The Asset Details page allows you to view the complete asset details, along with the various recommendations (if any) suggested for the asset to improve the overall efficiency and save cost.

On the Asset Details page, you can view three tabs, and clicking each tab will provide you with specific information about the asset.

View Asset Details

Procedure

  1. Login into CloudVerse.

  2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Services. The Assets page is displayed with Overview and other Assets tabs. Click the Assets List tab.

  3. The Asset List tab displays the complete details of the assets. Click the asset Name link to view the details and recommendations suggested for the asset.

  4. The Details page displays the complete details of the assets. The Details page displays the fields that are specific to a virtual machine. Note that the details may vary based on the type of the asset.

Field

Description

Instance ID

Indicates the unique instance ID specific to the cloud asset.

vCPUs

Indicates the number of virtual processors.

Region

Indicates the region to which the asset belongs. This value is automatically inherited from the related account if any.

Availability Zone

Indicates the availability zone of the provisioned instance.

Created On

Indicates the date that the asset was created.

Created By

Indicates the username who created the asset.

Updated On

Indicates the date when the asset was last updated on.

Updated By

Indicates the user who last updated the asset.

Memory

Indicates the memory

CPU Platform

This field specifies the CPU platform available to the cloud asset.

Machine Type

Indicates the machine type of the cloud asset. For example,

Deletion Protection

Indicates if the instance can be protected from accidental deletion.

Last Started

Indicates the date when the asset was last started.

Tags

Indicates the free-form labels or keywords that you create to logically identify data objects.

Disk(s)

Indicates the directory of disks that are attached to the cloud asset. For each disk, the following information is available:

  • device-name

  • index

  • interface

  • mode

  • type

Boot

Indicate if the Disk Boot is required for the specific asset. The value is Yes and No.

Type

Indicates the type of cloud asset.

Mode

Indicate the instance disk mode.

Kind

Indicates the kind of disk. For example, SYSTEM_DISK, DATA_DISK.

Index

Indicates the index unique number if you have many disks attached.

Device Name

Indicates the device name associated with the cloud asset.

Size

Indicates the disk size allocated for the cloud asset.

Network Interface(s)

Indicates the directory of network interfaces for the cloud asset provisioned.

Network ID

Indicates the unique identifier of the network specific to the asset. Clicking the ID link navigates you to the complete details of the network.

Subnet

Indicates the logical subdivision of an IP network. It can be private or public.

IP Address

A unique address for a device or logical unit on a network that uses the Internet Protocol standard.

View Resource Utilization (Not Implemented)

Procedure

  1. Login into CloudVerse.

  2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Assets. The Assets page is displayed with Overview and Assets List tabs. Click the Assets List tab and then click the Utilization sub-tab.

  3. The Utilization page displays the metrics specific to a virtual machine. The metrics displayed will vary with the type of asset. Only the metrics that have an impact on the cost of the asset are displayed.

Field

Description

CPU Utilization

This field displays the CPU utilization for the cloud asset provisioned. You can filter and view the CPU utilization by Hourly, Weekly, Monthly, and Daily.

Disk Write OPS

Indicates the number of output operations that are written in a second from all the disk(s) attached to the cloud asset.

Disk Read OPS

Indicates the number of input operations that are read in a second from all the disk(s) attached to the cloud asset.

Disk Write

Indicates the number of output operations (bytes) written to all the disk(s) attached to the cloud asset.

Disk Read

Indicates the number of output operations (bytes) read from the disk(s) attached to the cloud asset.

Network In

The number of bytes received on all network interfaces by the cloud asset (s).

Network Out

The number of bytes out on all network interfaces by the cloud asset (s).

View Recommendations

Displays recommendations/suggestions about how you can improve the efficiency of your cloud asset. A short summary of the recommendations specific to the cloud asset are displayed under the Recommendations tab.

Procedure

  1. Login into CloudVerse.

  2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Services. The Assets page is displayed with Overview and other Assets tabs. Click the Assets List tab.

  3. The Asset List tab displays the complete details of the assets. Click the asset Name link to view the tab Recommendations suggested for the asset.

  4. The Recommendations page displays the recommendations or suggestions made for the asset. Recommendation for a given asset displays the potential savings that can be achieved if the recommendation is implemented.

Untagged Assets

Procedure

  1. Login into CloudVerse.

  2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Services. The Assets page is displayed with Overview and other Assets tabs. Click the Untagged Assets tab.

  3. The Untagged Assets tab displays the complete details of the assets that have not been tagged.

The table shows the same view of Assets List, but it filters only untagged assets. The page shows you know the total number of untagged ones, from which cloud providers and associated accounts.

Non-Production Running Assets

Procedure

  1. Login into CloudVerse.

  2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Services. The Assets page is displayed with Overview and other Assets tabs. Click the Non-Production Running Assets tab.

  3. The Non-Production Running Assets tab displays the number of Non-Production assets that are running and associated with accounts

New Assets

Procedure

  1. Login into CloudVerse.

  2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Services. The Assets page is displayed with Overview and other Assets tabs. Click the New Assets tab.

The New Assets tab displays the same view of Assets List with assets that are newly added to CloudVerse.
