Perspectives

Overview

This page provides a quick overview of the perspectives. A perspective is a group of assets. Any cloud-based application needs infrastructure (cloud resources) for its deployment and operations. It also provides the estimated average daily spend, MTD Spend and current month forecast. Besides, it also provides the actual spend versus budget.

Procedure

1. Login into CloudVerse.

2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Unit Costs. The Perspectives page is a sub-menu item and click on Perspectives item displayed with an overview of total perspectives.

Access Perspectives

Procedure

1. Login into CloudVerse.

2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Unit Costs. The Perspectives page is a sub-menu item and click on Perspectives item displayed with an overview of total perspectives.

3. Click on Perspective Details tab, a dynamic hierarchy perspective displayed. Click on a perspective to see its details

4. You can access the following product information in each row.

Create a new Perspective

1. Login into CloudVerse.

2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Unit Costs. The Perspectives page is a sub-menu item and click on Perspectives item displayed with an overview of total perspectives.

3. Select the + Add button to create a view for (BUs, Department, Application). The Create New Perspectives dialog appears.

4. To create a perspective (view), you must:

   2. Add assets

   3. Mark shared resources

   4. Verify/view the perspective summary

6. Enter the required information in the following fields.

Field	Description
Step 1: Create Perspective
Perspective Name	Indicates the name of the perspective.
Description	Displays a brief description about the perspective.
Business Owners	Displays the business owner(s) of the perspective.
Technical Owners	Displays the technical owner(s) of the perspective.
Step 2: Add Assets
Name	Indicates the name of the asset. Clicking the link allows you to view the complete details of the asset.
Provider	Indicates the cloud service provider associated with the asset that you have selected.
Region	Indicates the region to which the cloud service provider belongs to.
Zone	Indicates the zone of the cloud service provider.
Category	Indicates the category of the cloud asset.
Cost	Indicates the cost associated with the cloud instance.
Status	Indicates the status of the instance.
Step 3: Mark Shared Resources
Name	Indicates the name of the shared resource.
Provider	Indicates the cloud service provider name associated with the shared resource that you have selected.
Category	Displays the shared resource category.
Asset Value	Displays the asset value percentage.
Cost	Displays the cost of a shared resource.
Status	Indicates the status of the resource.
Step 4: View Product Summary
Name	Indicates the name of the perspective.
Business Owners	Displays the business owner(s) of the perspective.
Technical Owners	Displays the technical owner(s) of the perspective.

1. Click Create.

2. Click Confirm at the confirmation prompt.

Edit a perspective flow

1. Login into CloudVerse.

2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Perspectives. The Perspectives page is displayed with an overview of total IT assets. Click the Perspective List tab.

3. From the list of perspectives, identify the perspective that you want to edit.

4. Corresponding to the perspective, click the Edit icon under the Action field.

5. The Edit Perspective dialog appears. Modify the perspective details as required at each step and click Next.

6. After editing the details, click Update in the Perspective Summary window.

De-activate a perspective

1. Login into CloudVerse.

2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Perspectives. The Perspectives page is displayed with an overview of total IT assets. Click the Perspective List tab.

3. From the list of perspectives, identify the perspective that you want to de-activate.

4. Note: You can only deactivate the perspectives that are in the active status.

5. Corresponding to the perspective, select the checkbox, and then click the De-activate button from the top menu.

6. In the Confirmation popup, click Confirm to deactivate the perspective.

Activate a perspective

1. Login into CloudVerse.

2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Perspectives. The Perspectives page is displayed with an overview of total IT assets. Click the Perspective List tab.

3. From the list of perspectives, identify the perspective that you want to activate.

4. Note: You can only reactivate the perspectives that are in the inactive status.

5. Corresponding to the perspective, select the checkbox, and then click the Re-activate button from the top menu.

6. In the Confirmation popup, click Confirm to activate the perspective.

Delete a perspective

1. Login into CloudVerse.

2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Perspectives. The Perspectives page is displayed with an overview of total IT assets. Click the Perspective List tab.

3. From the list of perspectives, identify the perspective that you want to delete from the list.

4. Corresponding to the perspective, click the Delete icon under the Action field.

5. In the Delete Confirmation popup, click Confirm to delete the perspective.

Perspective Spend Trend

Procedure

1. Login into CloudVerse.

2. From the left pane (navigation menu), select Perspectives. The Perspectives page is displayed with an overview of total IT assets. Click the Perspective Spend Trend tab.
